Les Gold – All My Good Friends

Being an ode to the lovable, yet sometimes problematic behavior of the people you are closest with, the new release of Portland-based indie rock-pop geniuses Les Gold has an addictive pop drive attached. Yet this specific sound cannot be mainstream categorized. We’ll have to name a new genre. I’ll go with “futuretro Gold pop”.

In a quirky energetic atmosphere, the instrument tracks fill the room with saturated textures consisting this awesome fat vibe. As the vocals tell the story of the tune, injecting this signature-styled retro vibe, the track feels majestically old and futuristically young. It’s precisely this blend of old and new, of drive and laid-back behavior that connects with me. The five members of Les Gold have created quite the time traveler with “All My Good Friends”. And they did so in an intriguing dancefloor-filling fashion, with an undeniable drive and blended with loads of fun. So, whenever you need that little extra energy, this is the tune to put on repeat.
