Lonely Little Kitsch – Monster

Being about about simple miscommunication that’s blown out of proportion, the new release of Canadian altrockers Lonely Little Kitsch once again brings that special drive to the table. And what’s really exciting about that drive is its simplicity.

The track uses mainly four chords to step on the pedal big time. Yes, the tune may feel a bit “stiff” at parts through the no-shenanigans drum patterns and minimal backing throughout the verse parts. Yes, the concept isn’t brand new and feels a bit oldschool-punk-ish. But that’s the point here for me. Edgy honesty, packed into energy, sprinkled with handmade flaws that give the sound the special ingredient. The duo simply does their thing, and it’s feelable that they mean it. The core vibe of the tune can be felt. And long story short, that simple effective driver vibe is what I love about “Monster”.
