Fransoafran – A Wish

Today it’s time for a wish. Not a big one, we’re talking small ones. Light ones, the type of wish that can be fulfilled anytime. Something that brightens the day and most of the time won’t cost you a thing.

The new release of Australian artist Fransoafran paints a picture of how this wish comes to life. With a lightweight and positive atmospheric setting, the melody feels carefree, yet contains a signature amount of melancholy. Far from sad, the feelings are transmitted in a very energetic fashion, while the combination of piano, violin and cello just feels peaceful for me. It’s a perfect mix of expression and emotion, holding the balance between relaxed mood and wishful thinking.

And that’s what attracts me most with ‘A Wish’, it’s the whole atmosphere and the connected moodset. Within two minutes, the world gets warmer, brighter and more peaceful, while the melodies indicate that the tune just accepts all the flaws of the world. Okay, that actually might get a bit astray from what the composer intended, but for me, this is how the song works.
