Track Review

Running Lights – Next Year

With emotional vocals and a driving electro backing, the new release of Running Lights feels like flying through sound.

The vocals are setting the tone for ‘Next Year’. In a reverbed wide roomy setting, those passionate lyrics are sung with an uplifting flair. When those stabbing synths hit along the saturated beat, its time to move. The sound delivers an awesome amount of groove during the chorus parts, filling the room around the listener with warmth and a irresistible dancing vibe. Moving my head slightly during the verse parts, I found myself doing my infamous chair dance during the chorus.

The tracks’ mix is rock solid. Not only is every single track carefully placed in the mix, but also there are some effects built in with sense for detail and the passion for a somewhat artistic approach. For example, those reverbed extras with the lyrics. I love when producers ‘hide’ such details in there to find for you ears. It’s creating that little woah-effect every time this happens. And for all of you out there who don’t like the sound doing its magic in this signature electro fashion, there’s also an acoustic version to check out available on spotify.
