Track Review

Von Welt – Diebe

Regarding intensity, this track feels like a bungee jump. So prepare to go for a ride with the new release of german band Von Welt.

A love poem never have been constructed more intense than in “Diebe”. This track goes from mysterious roomy soundscape over to energetic rock to kickass new metal including intense screaming. The sound contains a huge amount of energy that is urging to surface. The vocals are done intense and resolute, and the pressurized backing tracks put an exclamation mark behind the intensity of the track. I love the fact that “Diebe” feels like a rollercoaster of emotions. (In fact, that sound is a perfect analogy to what love actually IS – ups and downs, softness and intensity, emotions and desperation, the fight of give and take…you know the drill. The whole package that make you go insane and happy at the same time.) The concept of the track seems to be one with the musical execution.

Of course, this track is probably not the best choice to be put on the next cuddling playlist (or these german samplers called “Kuschelrock” – I really don’t know if these are still a thing these days). But that wasn’t intended anyway. “Diebe” showcases the fact that raw emotions such as love cannot be controlled once released. And it shows that love can be expressed in an awesome rocking way.
