BOWIE – Good All on My Own

With a minimal start into the scene, the new release of German singer/songwriter BOWIE creates a playful atmosphere with a kind of retro-vibed base. What starts like slow and somewhat dark spotlight storytelling evolves into a playful and exciting arpeggiated scenery that uses butterfly-ish arpeggios making the energy hidden in the track come to life. Along the massive rhythmic extras later in the track, the tune changes seamlessly between fragile and kickass.

In the end, it’s exactly this unique mix of emotional mood sets along a sophisticated delivery of the story at hand that fascinates me with “Good All on My Own”. The addictive vocals manage to let the listener in no man’s land regarding emotional attachment. This vibe which I’d like to call a “melanchotragicfun core” is what makes this song so awesome. Being the artist’s personal “f%#k you” to stereotypical role models and expectations, the track won’t bow down to regulations even regarding emotions. You gotta love this feelable freedom happing in the tune.
