Indelible Scars – Darkly Dreaming

Being sort of a diary of exploration and struggle with a disease called “Lyme Disease”, the new release of Sheffield-based electronic producer known as Indelible Scars feels a bit dark and uncomfortable, but that’s exactly the point of this tune.

Ever heard of Lyme disease before? Caused by tick bites, it can cause a whole range of symptoms from small tiresome things to brutal major issues. For me, the track does picture this palette in an interesting way, there’s a certain unstoppable drive present, but also there’s this unforgiving darkness, reflecting the fact that until now there’s not a thing you can do about the illness. No vaccination yet. Staying in a clean room without contact with nature probably would do the trick, but we all want to live a bit, right?

This song was created by life itself since the artist had to experience it for himself. In a way, “Darkly Dreaming” can be seen as a kind of leaflet to the sickness. And if I have to learn about diseases, it better be presented in this intriguing electronic edgy manner. The song puts you into perspective, everything is happening without you being able to hold the wheel. In the case of this addictive electro ride, you’re the passenger.
