Mirakai – Iridescent

This track has been around for some time now. Released back in 2022, the tune nevertheless contains a very intense emotional setting.

For me, the track feels like a goodbye. Yet it’s not the regular “bye, see you soon” kind of goodbye. Some things in life have got to go in order to make room for what’s coming next. This could be thoughts and dreams, feelings, hopes, and even people. Within those peaceful and calm piano melodies, there’s a deep core melancholy present that tries to hold itself back to make room for new and positive vibes, while at the same time, there’s a certain… undeniable burden that is carried by the melodies. For me, the pictured goodbye is bound to be an ultimate form of letting go. Bound to be finally gone, and bound to realize that it has to happen.

The beauty of this track is exactly this ability to create an intense fragile emotional scenery. I love the vulnerable approach of the melodies, presented in a soft yet expressive playing style. “Iridescent” fills the atmosphere with inner peace by letting you know that change is okay. I know there are possibly hundreds of interpretations possible for this specific song. This is what music is about for me. It’s this wide range of how it impacts the listener.
