Sidus – Pale Dot

The new release of greek producer Siuds will take you into deep space. Out in the black, you are allowed to look back over your shoulder to visit earth from afar. Being inspired by the picture taken by the Voyager probe years back, the track creates an awesome widespread point of view.

You gotta love the fact that this music feels lonely in the unique way it was created. The reverbed setting along the slightly melancholic melodies give the track a lone-wolf vibe. Out on a never ending mission, the song very much like the voyager probe feels alone but happy. Worried about the future as we all are, yet at peace with what lies back and what lies ahead. The driven guitars create tension, while the electro synth progressions add that exciting glow of the unknown to the scene.

But that’s not the whole story. The song opens up discussion about human nature, that’s also where the visualiser comes into play. I absolutely love the concept of the questions being asked ‘from the outside’. These questions are all there, and some of them simply leave us with our head bowed down because what we do makes no sense. ‘Pale Dot’ brings a unexpected level of deepness to the table. These questions, these existencial thoughts from the perspective of a brave unhuman explorer out there shifts the point of origin in a way that all of a sudden you don’t feel important anymore. And when the all-present question “why?” is asked, you’ll find yourself unable to answer it.
