Slide – Maybe I Just Hate You

I admit it, I love the lyrical concept of the new release of the Swedish electro duo Slide. Looking around in the musical landscape out there, there’s an awful lot of love and desire out there to find. But this, boys and girls, is a perfect counter anthem for all of those who know exactly what the two guys of Slide are talking about.

With a complete and lush groove in a well-rounded mix, the track knows how to connect the dots between seemingly minimal elements that merge into a energy-rich and deep synth concept shining like a diamond through the vocals which are attached to this certain it’s-enough-now vibe. It’s not really melancholy, nor is it resignation swinging there in between the lyrics, I guess it’s a bit of both. May we should call it ‘melagnation’. Let’s be honest, guys – we ALL know what the song is all about. Everybody encounters this situation several times during a lifetime. Transmitting the topic in this mixture of lightweight groove and deep-layered electro is an awesome move that makes ‘Maybe I Just Hate You’ stands out before any other track in this genre in my opinion.
