INIMA, Joxaren – The Freaky

This next track would definitely go on my ‘strange but awesome’ shelf.

For this release, swedish artist Inima teamed with producer Joxaren to set up an awesome innovative electro pop track. But wait, I cannot really put this track into just one genre. There are a lot of handmade sounds happening in there, as well as genre-merged things and pieces you would expect from dubstep or similar. On top there are those beautiful vocals, glassy and spiced up with a special ingredient I like to call ‘eroticold’. This track makes you constantly switch between grooving on your office chair and raising the typical “what the heck was THAT” eyebrow. I love when music has the ability to get the listener out of his/her usual comfort zone, but without being annoying or disturbing – just being out-of-the-box and interesting.

See this through my eyes, folks – would YOU be able to create a puzzling track loaded with groove and this special unknown vibe? Nah, that’s what I thought. As a musician, you need to be playful, and I love when someone gets all of the elements out of the “DO NOT MIX” box, merging them into an awesome tune you won’t hear often out there in the otherwise often boring mainstream music industry landscape.
