Track Review

Kyle Jordan – Chemistry

The latest release of Jordan is another perfect example for creating an awesome environment in the head of the listener with music.

With quite minimalistic elements like a deep distorted synth, a bell-ish melody and some supporting guitar tracks, the vocals are designed to send shivers down your spine. For me, the whole setting feels like being in a room with your soulmate, transmitting all what’s happening between the two without any words but with just looking at each other.

Somehow, “Chemistry” feels like the definition of all whats happening between humans on a sub-level. I don’t know exactly why that is, maybe it’s these quiet, slow and detailed vocals, never accusing but determined, maybe it’s the roomy effects with those ultra-reverbed vocal one-shots, or the fact that the synth along the guitars paints an awesome picture in my head, this song is just something to feel. It’s also great that the track doesn’t need a harsh beat or build-ups, the message is delivered quite steady and calm. (By the way, this calm setting isn’t for everybody, you have to be able to ‘endure’ it. Hard to describe, but the song kind of ‘forces’ you to take your time to embrace the whole scenario.)
So, this is it, guys – pure soulfood to put on repeat for this saturday.
