Mia Vaile – Lonely Girl

I love the gritty approach of the new track taken off Mia Vailes new EP “Loner”. Not only is the sound energetic and expressive, yet it also is a powerful statement that can also be seen as an underdog’s anthem.

Inspired by the simple fact that lies make you lonely, this tune contains a lot of truth. The intensity of thoughts and feelings that come along this truth is pictured in an awesome way through this compressed setting, that practically pushes every other note of the backing in your brain, while the vocals keep this strange balance between sassy, melancholic, and fully aware that things aren’t right. The description of the tune states “Everyone’s lied about something at some point, but sometimes people lie to the people closest to them. This leaves them so alone, in a head full of doubts.”

This. My point exactly. All the urge, the desperation and the helplessness is described very effective through both lyrics and music. As soon as a track is able to transmit its message and intention in this crystal clear fashion, I’m an instant fan. And singer/songwriter Vaile created a straightforward energetic tune that won’t sugarcode anything. It hits hard, exactly like it was intended.
