FNTN – Crypto Vegan

With a certain retro-flavored charme, the new release of FNTN triggers a certain lightweight melancholy. Being a goodbye to a friend or lover who leaves the rock and roll lifestyle behind for the corporate life, the track contains both a sad and a funny aspect of life. With a surf-textured rock backing, the track of the Los Angeles based band feels carefree, yet enriched with a certain moodset.

Don’t we all know someone like this? Someone we knew, who chose a different path somewhere along the road? I love how “Crypto Vegan” handles this topic. With a perfect mix of grown-up maturity and a boy-ish smiling side-step (I mean, come on! “Crypto Vegan” would be a perfect t-shirt print! Or a new genre in music! Or a business career plan!) , the track won’t whine over something that we all cannot change. We all change over time, and it’s a fact of life that we won’t ever stick together as humans, at least not they way we did in the past.

As mindsets and opinions change, it’s natural to point that out. And as this tune does exactly that, it also has this awesome “that’s life”-shimmer connected to the summer-ish groove.
