Filip Dahl – Time is Ticking Like a Clock
The new release of Norwegian composer and multi-instrumentalist Filip Dahl gets back to the roots of classic hard rock. There’s this undeniable, undiluted handmade rock groove present that stands for the origin of the whole genre. With a classic guitar, bass and drum setting, the track builds a solid output of energy which is enriched with classic retro elements, like an organ and those signature-styled calm melodic vocals.
The most astounding part in my opinion is that Dahl does everything on his own. That’s right, any element in the tune is sung and played by him, so one can only imagine the huge amount of work that was put into the tune. With the emotional message being strongly reflected in both the singing and the instrumental solos, the track brings back some retro-flavoured memories from back when classic rock really was “classic”. With “Time is Ticking Like a Clock”, the Norwegian multitalent created a solid tune that stands out as a piece of heart and soul.
