Taken from frogi’s recently released EP “Introvert”, the track “thnk u” knows how to impress with awesome vocals in a minimalistic setting.
The track concept is awesome in my opinion. With just additional room synth effects, the track basically consists of layered vocal tracks which are processed and arranged in a way to create a real wide reverbed environment. And this isn’t even the best part of the song. The best part is the message. While the theme isn’t really new (relationship/ people get hurt/people deal with it), it’s the unusual approach that made me fall in love with this track. Though the vocals are done soft and calming, the statement behind them is distinct, powerful and effective. Heck, the song somehow makes ME feel guilty about something I haven’t done just because the message is delivered so spot-on. But at the same time there’s so much confidence packed in between the lyrics that the good-old “it’s okay” feel kicks back in, along a strong feeling of “wow. what a woman.” With this effect in mind, it comes down to this: this is simply an outstanding sound, an outstanding song created by an outstanding artist. I guess the only thing left to say is… thnk u.
