Arula – Too Much

This tune will cast a spell on you. The new release of San Francisco-based songwriter, sound-healer and producer Arula knows exactly what knobs to turn to hypnotize you.

I love the crystalline atmosphere that is created through a perfect mixture of fragile haunting vocals along sub bass constructs that lure in the dark, only be driven away by melodic synth textures. “Too Much” somehow manages to slow down time with ever-knowing soundscaping elements that fill the room with dense clouds of musical energy. The vocals exist in this signature dark atmopshere as if they were some higher being in full control of the surrounding. The listener is hanging on every note of these mesmerizing vocals, while the backing feels dark yet also strangely familiar.

The hypnotic aspect of the tune is intense as well. Although there are edgy elements to find in the tune, it feels always comforting like a melodic blanket. The music contains restless rushing thoughts, yet also structured vibes that feel relaxed and soothing. Long story short: this is awesome music that can be felt more than it can be heard, if you’re willing to fully dive into the atmosphere of “Too Much”.
