Monelise – Symphonies of Love

You gotta love the mysterious exciting undertone of the new release of Monelise. With sparkling synth constructs, a soft yet relentless driving beat and these awesome vocals, ‘Symphonies of Love’ creates a signature surrounding I’d like to call “Hauntiverse”.

Being a song that was conceived via a series of handwritten letters between two soulmates, this tune captures the energetic tension present between sender and recipient, this can be felt both regarding the theme and the music itself. There’s this undeniable excitement present, and as those addictive vocals are blending with the seemingly minimal synth melodies, there are passages that feel a lot like Madonna consulted for this tune. Yet this track is an upgrade reagarding the placement of vocal-one shots that add crystalline and almost icy textures. Done this way, the tune feels partly haunted, dark, and born out of desire and passion which is, by the way, one of the absolute strong suits of Monelise. Within her works you’ll always find something in the subtext that triggers these emotions you probably hold back. While I know too little about the spiritual side of things, I’d nevertheless say that this aspect is strong in this track as well as the other works of the singer/songwriter.
