Clifford – Love is Real

I’m not sure why I love this tune. There’s just something in it that really feels awesome. Along a minimalistic setting, the tune transmits a ton of emotion and feelable vibe. While the guitar really does the absolute minimum, and there’s minimal percussion happening that creates a big room, the vocals feel ultra-authentic. Done very dedicated, the vocals are also crystalline and almost fragile in their approach, adding to the vulnerable atmosphere created by the backing.

‘Love is Real’ is a perfect example of what they call “less is more”. You won’t find unneeded material in there. The tune isn’t loaded with drive or energy, nor special effects. It’s just this addictive minimal scenery that makes the vocals shine like a diamond. And you gotta agree with me on that, ladies and gentlemen – this is enough to transmit both the message and the emotions connected to it. The artist does so in a real sophisticated signature style. And if you think he’s only doing that because he created a slow ballad here, you’re wrong. He even does so when he’s going quick quick slow.
