Ginko Bugs – Rain Town

Swedish Ginko Bugs dropped a track that contains a certain vintage melancholy for me. With a calm and slightly swinging base, the track knows how to fill the room with moods and emotion. Warm guitars merge with unique harmonica textures to offer a perfect atmosphere to these soulful and understanding vocals. The sound feels handmade, it feels real and tangible.

The tune might as well be the unofficial soundtrack of life for most people. While life might be boring sometimes (let’s be honest, it cannot be a rollercoaster every single day, now can it), the track knows how to get some positivity into these regular everyday cycles. Yes, there is ‘same old, same old’ happening, yet the song gets a smile on your faces while facing these recurring cycles. You can hear the positive bright rays shining through the single tracks, theres a certain energy present that let’s you know there’s always something new to explore out there no matter how things might seem right now. And in the end, it’s exactly this poisitivity that I love about ‘Rain Town’. The positive message was important before Covid hit, and if you ask me, nowadays it is even more important.
