The Sunshine State – Bob

There’s something attached to the new release of LA based Skyler Stonestreet, better known under the project name The Sunhsine State. The tune has a very honest and straightforward emotional base which is transmitted perfectly with defensive guitars and these pristine vocals.

I fell in love with this track instantly because of its unobtrusive appeal. The song brings a warm and sunny atmosphere to the table, the tune contains just the right amount of drive and energy to keep it in a very positive and uplifting state, yet also there’s a slight signature melancholic element to find in there. And in this warm and safe scenario, the sophisticated and good-natured vocals tell the story of the song with a unreal amount of passion and dedication, yet without any kind of pressure. (Honestly, Stonestreet could sing the content of a telephone book, and I’d still be soaking any word from A to Z.) These vocals have a certain ingredient attached that makes them irresistible. They feel somewhat innocent, with a slight amount of ‘been-through-much’ and ‘helpless-romantic-anyway’. And done this way, ‘Bob’ paints a picture that most of us know very well.
