Guitatronik – Entropy

The lo-fi intro almost got me. What disguised as a total experimental tune showed its true colors only seconds later. Building a mysterious floaty atmosphere, the track really is something to feel.

The tune contains several levels of energetic intensity, while you are granted this soft, relaxed floaty canvas at first, things get more intense over time. For me, the guitars triggered a certain ‘alertness’ once they switched gears, bringing the tune one up to a more expressive and driving state. Leaving the relaxed setting, and heading towards bright energy, there’s this pressure that is backed by an intelligent mix of non-linear rhythm patterns along handcrafted extra percussion that merges perfectly with the processed guitars to a dense jungle of sound.

I really loved the tune changing form within its total length, ‘Entropy’ isn’t just some sightseeing trip, it’s more like a parachute jump into unknown territory. During this trip, there are several elements added. At first, the main emphasis are the guitars, after which the focus suddenly shifts toward the drums. Then there are these melodic synths that are transformed almost to a psychedelic degree, until the tune releases you back to civilization. And there you have it, the ability to take you on this unique detailed journey is probably the most intriguing aspect of this tune.
