Smoke Spider – You’re Wearing Me Out

Hear that? There’s this unique what I like to call ‘end-of-the-world’ undertone present in the latest release of Smoke Spider, the project of Göran Florström and Johan Granat from Sweden, and this undertone is presented with energy, and a sassy smile.

With a handmade rockin’ base, the tune contains a signature drive that is backed by grungy guitars along driving rhythm set happening. Done in this way, this tune quickly evolves into a catchy sing-along song as well. Some might say that the recording and mix might not be top notch quality. Yet I have the opinion that through the way the tune sounds, it gets a special edgy, vintage character. While the tune isn’t shiny polished, it feels authentic and gets this signature punk-ish element that makes ‘You’re Wearing Me Out’ ultra-believable. Well, this – and the detuned intros, the almost sassy vocals and the roomy reverb that gets the tune a certain ‘live’ feel.

Overall, this track is a energetic anthem that injects oldschool handmade vibes into your bloodstream. Side effects include the need to sing along and move uncontrolled. At least that’s what I encountered.
