Six Days Of Calm – Reflections

This tune really tells a story that spans not only a page or two, but a whole book full of thoughts, memories and emotions. Songwriter Marc Fischer, better known as Six Days Of Calm, sensitively built an atmosphere that feels like looking at old photographs of a life that once was yours, but now isn’t anymore. With a slow and steady approach, the track unfolds to a landscape of emotions, with carefully chosen arrangements of strings, synths and supporting processed elements. With that, the story that’s told picks up speed and tension, it builds towards a climax like an awesome movie, while the sound unfolds like a rose that’s blooming with the first rays of daylight.

The video coming along with the sound adds an even more intense scenario, because it connects the melodies to a life full of memories there. The pictures are pouring melancholy in an already intense scenario built by ‘Reflections’, and this etraordinary amount of intensity is what made me fall in love with this track instantly. The sound doesn’t ‘show off’ what it is about, it just exists to tell the truth in the most soulful, but at the same time also painful way possible. This is thoughtful music written to be felt, and to be experienced.
