Quick Shots #33: Grand Commander

/ How are your plans for 2021? Do you plan on starting with a bang?
/ Sam, Grand Commander:
The plans for 2021 depend on the vaccine. If I can get one, I’ll start being as active as possible. Otherwise, stay at home and write more music. On a more positive note, the album is coming in the early part of this year, and I’m very excited to release Grand Commander’s debut album, Bear Factory.

/ If you were able to do live shows during 2020: name the gig you liked the most, and tell us what made it so special?
/ Sam, Grand Commander:
Unfortunately I did not play any live shows in 2020. If I can talk about a gig from 2019, we played in Norman, Oklahoma. It’s a college town and school was not in session, and it was our first time playing there, so we thought the show might be terrible. Boy were we wrong. We had a decent crowd and everyone was in it, and the show ended up being our best show on that run. You just never know how things are going to turn out.

/ What do you guys miss the most with all the restrictions being in place?
/ Sam, Grand Commander:
I just miss being able to freely breathe air, see friends, watch live music, and live a life connected to other humans in a physical space. And you better believe I miss rocking. It’s coming soon though, just have to wait a little bit longer.
