John DiStase Music – Incandescent

There’s something special to find in the new release of John DiStase. A certain mysterious energy. With a playful and energetic approach, the single guitar tracks fill the room with a very special positive vibe.

Somewhat hard to describe, the general feel of the tune settles somewhere in between ‘playful puppies’ and ‘a construction site down Main Street’. There’s this precise movement happening in the tune, keeping the drive and tension at all times while giving the listener relaxing moments as well. It’s this adventurous energy that gives ‘Incandescent’ its majestic appearance, making it feel sophisticated through the interaction between the single melodies. You also gotta love the different processed guitar tracks feeling as one, from distorted electric guitar to handpicked acoustic guitar. Nothing happening in this tune is a coincidence. DiStase somehow manages to make them come together for an awesome guitar family barbecue, and none of the single tracks feels alienated in there. Overall, this tune feels like a showcase of what is possible with several guitars and playing styles. If I wasn’t a drummer, NOW would be the time to learn how to play guitar.
