Quick Shots #28: Aboriginals

/ What have you guys been up to? What’s next in line for 2021?
/ Andrew, Aboriginals:
Not a whole lot currently. When lockdown restrictions started to ease during the summer we were back playing and writing together at our rehearsal space, but it must be a few months now that we haven’t been able to meet indoors. At the beginning of this year we went into lockdown days before we were due to head into the studio so hopefully in 2021 we’ll finally be recording new music and, with any luck, we might even be able to play some gigs again.

/ How does a session look like right now? Do you do online sessions?
/ Andrew, Aboriginals:
With the lockdown restrictions we’ve only been able to work individually. We have all our demos online and upload new ideas or anything we’ve worked on, so in a sense we’re still writing together but not playing “live” together as we normally would. Hopefully we’ll be back in a room together soon.

/ Where do you guys record, mix and master your songs?
/ Andrew, Aboriginals:
The majority of the tunes have been recorded/mixed by Chris Marshall at 7 West Studios. We were days away from recording a new single with him before the pandemic got in the way! And the latest singles were mastered by Tom at Hippocratic Mastering.
