Counting Chances – Clean

This tune is a safe haven for my mind tonight. When times are rough (and they starting to get rougher on a daily basis nowadays), it’s such a relief to have music like this resting in my playlist.

For me, this tune also is a love story of a piano and a cello. For me, those instruments are meant to be together, and ‘Clean’ shows why that is. You have the emotional, lightweight and melodic piano, and along the free and balanced melodies, there’s this more melancholic side happening, yet in a way that both instruments are completing each other. Imagine the instruments as a couple. At times they are both happy, at times they are both sad, and while they are at the same side most of the time, there are differences to feel, little nuances in mood and intention. And it’s the ability of the both of them to align as one to the same basic concept that really completes them.

Just listen to the music. Isn’t this a perfect harmonic interaction along the same way these instruments are following? The way they are played is really intense speaking of emotional expression. And the mood range isn’t confined to just one main mood, which makes the tune even more intense. This tune is the definition of expressing feelings.
