XLX – How Long

This track is a really mind-blowing mixture of retro and future. While the tune has a certain vintage-flavored moodset, there are these intriguing electro and handmade elements present, making the track really (and I mean REALLY) hard to categorize in the end.

I really can’t put my finger on it, but there’s something attached to that track that really gives me goosebumps. I mean, listen to this. There are those processed guitars along that somewhat edgy rhythm setting in a reverbed atmosphere that feels cold, metallic and outlandish. The vocals bring some humanity to the table, but sometimes in an almost desperate moodset that makes them feel vulnerable in this scenery. The retro-styled base of ‘How Long’ doesn’t rush anything to show you the world of XLX. And the visuals for this tune are the icing on the cake. They emphasize on the techy and artifical side of things, doing so just perfectly to support the general moody core of the tune.
