Dylan Koski – Waiting for the Birds

This tune feels like a script of life. Where mood meets lush groove, where emotional vocals meet moody guitars, somewhere down this road you’ll find the new release of Columbus based multitalent Dylan Koski. What makes ‘Waiting for the Birds’ really stand out is its lightweight way of just fooling around with moodsets and atmospheres. Don’t get too comfortable with the one atmospheric setting you’re listening to right now, because BOOM! – you’ll get ripped out of that scenario soon, entering a whole different scenery with the next stage of the tune. How to keep the main theme intact during the process of reinventing the tune several times is a total mystery to me, but Koski manages to do so with ease.

In a way, the several stages the song goes through feel like living through a day. Waking up, getting to work, having a few issues there, relaxing in the evening, maybe doing a lone wolf thing at night… it’s awesome how the song puts the sound into pictures for the listener, you never know what’s next, and this is exactly what makes the track so irresistible.
