Russell Patterson – Right Name

This song’s special power is obvious: this tune oozes melancholic honesty. The whole tune feels beaten down, it feels broken, heartbroken, sad, and a dozen of emotions to find in between those obvious ones.

Seriously, this sound can be felt big time, because it’s exactly this melancholic core that can be found in each and every one of us. I’m not a psychiatrist (well, sometimes I think I am sort of a hobby psychiatrist), but what you can hear in ‘Right Name’ is the same what you can feel inside if you stare at your reflection in the mirror. The whole song, from raw calm backing to these vocals containing sadness and defiance, cuts through my mind like a knife.

Spoiler alert: this song will never make it to mainstream radio. Why? Because it deals with feelings to honestly. No sugarcoding to find here, and I love it. This one is not your everyday happy tune. This one hits the core if you let it. I dare you to take your time, sit still for a couple of moments, breathe, and let this awesome work of art have its full effect on you.
