Quick Shots #13: Stu Larsen

/ How are you holding up during these crazy times?
/ Stu Larsen:
Surprisingly well to be honest. For me, I always felt like 2020 would be the start of a new chapter. I certainly didn’t expect it to be forced upon us all in the form of a global shutdown, but I have made the most of things in my own little world. I’m currently sitting in a little cottage in Scotland, seemingly a million miles away from any of the current craziness. I’m working on a visa to allow me to stay in Europe and not have to move around every 3 months but until it’s approved, I’ll keep floating. I’ve always travelled for music, but now with no touring for the foreseeable future, I think it’s time to embrace the next chapter and sit tight for a while.

/ What’s your favourite hideout if you need some space?
/ Stu Larsen:
I usually rent a little cottage along a river in New Zealand when I need to escape but it’s been a while since I was over that way. Luckily for me, this cottage that I’m in right now gives me that exact same feeling. So now I have two places on opposite sides of the world to hide away in when I need to.

/ Which musician can be found most in your playlist?
/ Stu Larsen:
Ed Patrick was my most played artist from 2019 and is still played quite a lot, but Stephen Grady’s new album ‘Wonder’ is on the highest rotation at the moment. It’s looped 4 or 5 times already this morning as I’ve been replying to emails and staring out the window to the sheep on these foggy Scottish hills.
