The Replicants – Sing to Me of a Merry Christmas

Born to be on your christmas playlist.

You think it’s a bit early for a christmas song? Well, probably you are right. But since the world is pretty much upside down right now, and we’re in desperate need of some warm and emotional tune, I think it’s fitting for us to get our christmas playlist in shape for the upcoming christmas season. And let’s be honest, we all DO need a replacement for that same old dreamin-of-a-white-christmas tune, right.

Well, The Replicants are not exactly well known for their emotional christmas songs out there, yet they gave it a shot and did this surprising title that has sort of a boygroup-ish twist attached. Harmonized vocals meet guitar, that’s quite a well-known love story out there. But it works perfectly. There’s this special signature sad-melancholic undertone happening while the track is making use of retro-melodic vibes at the same time. You gotta love when bands step out of their comfort zone every now and then. And I love it even more when it turns out that a song, although a completely different genre, seems to sit well IN the comfort zone. Long story short: it might not be ho-ho-ho time yet, but this tune was born to be on your christmas playlist!
