Quick Shots #12: The Base

/ What are your music projects at the moment? What’s planned for the rest of 2020?
/ Norbert, The Base:
There are two or three gigs in the pipeline for the rest of 2020. We are not sure if they are going to happen. But we picked up a regular practice schedule again. Working on songs that I wrote during the quarantine. Early 2021 will see us in the studio again to record another two albums.

/ Who of you guys is considered the craziest one, and why is that?
/ Norbert, The Base:
(laughs) I don’t know. I guess, if you have three guys around 50, who still meet on a regular basis to practice, to perform and to put out 14 albums (so far) and who at the same time don’t really make money with all that, that’s pretty crazy in itself. So, to some extend we are all a little crazy. Though you wouldn’t notice if you met us.

/ Where do you guys meet for playing sessions or creating new songs?
/ Norbert, The Base:
As far as creating the songs goes, I do most of that alone and at home. As soon as the band gets involved – and that’s the stage we are at right now – we meet in our practice room. A dry and warm basement in the centre of our hometown Graz.
