Counting Chances – Fine Fine Fine Fine Fine

You got to be careful with the new release of Counting Chances. This tune will hit you with unfiltered emotion, and if you’re not willing to get lost in melancholy, you probably shouldn’t have a listen today but another time. I am blown away by the intensity of ‘Fine Fine Fine Fine Fine’. The backing creates this sad atmosphere, with a slow rhythm and a piano that is best decribed as ‘beaten down’. The instrumental part alone spreads an unmatched amount of mood and feel. But those vocals made me sit and stare blank. It doesn’t happen that often that a song gets me teared up, but this was a close one. The vocals feel soothing, understanding and calming, yet they do have this certain feeling attached. There’s this ultimate truth transmitted, as if you are told somthing you already knew deep down your heart but refused to accept until this moment.

What makes this song so darn effective is the fact that it serves as a catalyst for feelings. Whatever you thought you would try to make work, whoever you tried to be, it’s as if this song would see straight through you, letting you know that it’s time to stop playing a role. It’s this effect that makes me love music. And this is exactly why I love this song.
