thomTide – redBrocket

Irresistible like a sirens' call.

This one feels so oddworld-ish, and so irresistible at the same time. Bubbly synths along an addictive lush beat construct put this enchanting spell on you. The melody feels calming, and it also contains a bit of a ‘dangerous’ vibe, while the vocals lure you deeper into this relaxing cave that is build by the backing.

I think what makes ‘redBrocket’ so effective is its lush approach with practically all of the elements in there. Everything somehow happens in slow motion, creating a one-of-a-kind atmosphere that feels dreamy yet distinct, groovy but loaded with tension, relaxed but somewhat alerted. The used elements don’t happen by incident, every one-shot, every element was placed carefully to round this beautiful mysterious scenario the listener is allowed to experience. The music feels like it was really custom-made for these vocals, wrapping around them like a soft blanket. In a way, the tune feels like a sirens’ call, drawing the listener towards them until there’s no way of getting out of this tune anymore. Irresistible, but dangerous.
