Track Review

Eddy Shore – On the Hype Again

Click, boom.

Some might say this tune is a bit edgy. Some might say, this feels a bit thin. Some might say it doesn’t feel too well-rounded overall. I’m not disagreeing with all those statements. But you know what? These things are exactly why the new release of Berlin based Eddy Shore feels so irresistible in the end.

‘On the Hype Again’ has this ultra-honest lightweight approach that indicates what you are about to hear isn’t the usual poppy bs that’s smacking you in the head as soon as you turn on the radio. The track transmits the story in a groovy and uplifting fashion, with no unnecessary shenanigans happening in there. What really matters here is the overall vibe that is transmitted. With the guitar and the bellish tracks happening in the back, the track builds a basic core vibe that is upgraded by the vocals happening. Okay, yes – the vocal range isn’t really spanning a great distance, but once again, this is where you can hear truth and honesty in the craft called music. What we have here, boys and girls, is a piece of Eddy Shore’s soul, packed into an irresistible groove that will make you move eventually, with catchy lyrics that will make you sing along in no time. In other words: awesome music.
