Aishia – Oceans Roar

Beautiful. Mysterious. Playful. Deep.

This tune really has a ton of facettes to explore. The new release of Malaysia based singer/songwriter Aishia builds a beautiful, shimmering playful atmosphere around the listener. Using several synth constructs along a sub bass and an innovative rhythm setting, the track feels roomy and somewhat deep space-ish, with all those little sparkles and effects happening like coincidental movements.

The track offers more than meets the eye (or better yet: ear). Following a seemingly linear concept, ‘Oceans Roar’ uses intelligent drum patterns along one-shots that create tension and excitement to set the stage for these awesome vocals. Those are lush, methodical, emotional, icy, and in their own way, even innocent. It’s hard to categorize them, and that’s exactly what makes them so irresistible. Exploring the feeling of being head-over-heels in love, the almost chanting chorus part abducts you into the depth of the created void, while the verse parts feel exotic, playful, exciting and curious. This is not your everyday love song. It’s an awesome picture of the feel you get hit with when in love.
