Ani – Fake Freedom
Strangely connected to your mind.
Ice cold. Cutting through the void with a no-shenanigans attitude. The new release of multitalent Ani makes its message a hard-hitting statement. With an intriguing mixture of soft piano textures, bellish melodies and driving rhythm patterns, the track feels versatile like a spider – moving ultraslow and thoughtful at parts when jumping and running forward at other parts. (Plus the track is at least as fascinating as the animal.)
The vocals (and the extra vocal tracks) feel somewhat unforgiving, yet strangely connected to your mind. Sometimes they are cold and glassy, almost fragile – then, only seconds later, they are energetic, driving and pushing. See the pattern here? You gotta love the versatile nature of ‘Fake Freedom’. The track changes pace, pattern and vibe whenever it wants. Ani managed to blend all these parts seamlessly together into one expressive message. The intensity of the tune is built with almost minimalistic elements.
