Jacana People – Amaya

Feel that? This one feels like summer.

With a playful approach and a lightweight groove, the new release of Jacana People is made to forget about what is happening around you for a couple of minutes. Having quite an exotic element with the Hang drum in there, the track gets an instant mysterious glow right after it started. The methodic beat along a very intelligent percussion is set as the base foundation in which the melodic elements can ‘float’ around. The hang itself creates this metallic textured melody around which the soft synths revolve, creating this slight groove that makes you move instantly. Small additions, like synthscape textures that feel almost underwater-ish, or little breaks as the opportunity to breathe deep, keep the tension in ‘Amaya’ at all times. The overall mix is a thing of beauty, you won’t find any glitches whatsoever in this well-rounded work.

For me, its tracks like this one that feel like summer, that feel lightweight enough to create a complete scenery to let your mind wander in. ‘Amaya’ is soft enough to relax you, but energetic enough to keep the groove in there. Doesn’t get better than this with electro.
