Sidus – Prototypes/Replicas

This is not just a track. It’s artistic storytelling.

What starts with an exciting light and feelable atmospheric melody at the beach, evolves into a full-blown story with tension, energy, relaxing moments and playful sceneries. This versatile new release of german based multitalent Spiros Olivotos better known as Sidus tells its story with synthscape textures, with reverbed synth piano melodies, bell-ish sparkling patterns – and with energetic and driving guitars and a raw drumset as well where needed.

For me though, what really shines the brightest in the new release package of Sidus is the animated video coming with the track. Carefully arranged and with a high sense of artistic and aesthetic detail, the pictures are taking the sound itself to the next level. I’m really not sure if this is rather art with music, or if its music with art as a backing. The german based producer Spiros Olivotos managed to really blur the lines between art and music there, and I absolutely love it. I often have a problem connecting with art as a craft outside of music, but ‘Prototypes/Replicas’ sort of spans the bridge between these art forms for me. If you let it, this track opens your mindset for the beauty in both of the arts. For me it absolutely did.
