Ao Gryve – Feel

This one goes under the skin.

Okay guys, this is not your typical three-minute pop track to run in the back while you clean up your place. The artist himself probably described the tune the best way, he calls his new release ‘Indie-Electro-Art-Pop’. No objections from my side.

I need you to stop doing anything else. Sit down, put on those closed headphones, close your eyes and relax. Listen to the tune with focus for the next couple of minutes.
The track feels like a journey through the depths of your mind. What starts lost and disturbingly lo-fi, feeling like an old record from the 1930s, evolves over time, changing form, function and texture. Listen closely. There is so much happening in this track. I could bore you with a list of what single tracks are exactly in there to hear, but that’s not the point at all. ‘Feel’ offers the listener things to pick, it enables the brain to cling on to the elements it chooses. All the while with that melancholic lost vocals trying to find their way through this maze of thoughts, emotions and outworld-ish almst hypnotic patterns.

Ao Gryve manages to paint a picture of how confusing it is to actually sort out emotions like loneliness, anxiety, grief, depression and a ton of everything in between. You are able to experience this confusing feelings just by listening to the track, and that’s what makes it so valuable. This track is about the essence of music, it’s about what music is able to express. Don’t tell me you don’t feel it.
