Bellabeth – Introvert Life

Hands-down the best virus-themed song so far.

In an icy setting, the new release of Austrian multitalent Bellabeth sends shivers down your spine. With a bassy synth backing along a slow and methodical rhythm, the song creates a somewhat lost and lonely surrounding. There are just minimal percussion elements happening, and these are adding a crystalline and fragile component to the whole track.

But the diamond of ‘Introvert Life’ of course are the vocals. These feels really seductive yet at the same time lost and vulnerable. It’s that special mix that makes the whole track so unique, this doesn’t feel like an electro pop song, it feels more like what happens when you’re all by yourself with your thoughts. Even more so, it feels like this wall everyone builds around him/herself, trying to keep his/her cool when in fact inside a war is happening. What seems cool on the outside is a massive battle on the inside.

I guess it’s exactly this feeling that makes the track so damn attractive. It’s triggering emotions, it feels slow but also under massive tension, and the soft, melancholic groove happening in there makes you put the track on repeat.
