The Jupiter Effect – Down the Drain

Once again, it’s time to rock the place.

In the new release of The Jupiter Effect, once again this special signature rocking drive is the dominant force. Based by a innovative and very melodic bass line along a driving and energetic rhythm, the vocals and the guitar are allowed to do their thing. The guitars come to live like the pumping heart of the track, while the solos feel like creatures that just hatched out of the shadows. The vocals are like a puppet player holding together all the strings to channel the energy the right way. In a way, the track feels like the musical equivalent to a human body. There’s the heart pumping, the muscles are flexing, and the brain is constantly racing thoughts.

As the signature move of the Austrian band, they really know how to step on the pedal without really cutting back on energy even when the song is progressing more calm during the verse parts. Theres this kinda ruthless aggression present in the style of those guys, and I love it. With every other track, you know that there’s something massive coming your way. Looking around in the musical landscape nowadays, this energy and attitude doesn’t happen too often anymore. (I wonder why that is. Is humanity somehow getting softer?)
