Enlightenment Saloon – Driving on Instinct (Synthwave)

THIS is how to blend genres.

With an energetic rhythm that makes you move instantly, the newest release of the guys of Enlightenment Saloon takes you on a playful and exciting ride to another dimension. As soon as you hear the first seconds of the tune, you’ll be taken by those guitar melodies along the sparkling synth which create a floaty and roomy atmosphere. The fresh and jumpy bass line makes the track feel lightweight, while those soundscape tracks in the back build that awesome room with no walls for the tune to exist in.

What I love about ‘Driving on Instinct (Synthwave)’ is the way all those single elements are working together like a well-oiled machine. Everything just fits perfectly, as if the track was a great invention that happened out of coincidence. There’s a give-and-take happening between all of the instruments just like in a great relationship. The melodies, the stabs, the arpeggios, the rhythmic patterns – everything knows their time and place to happen, and this is what makes this tune such a well-rounded, groove-packed piece. I guess if krautrock and electro pop had a child, this is what it probably would sound like.
