Combo Qazam – Owls

The new release fo Combo Qazam has a really driving addictive flavor attached. With a energetic rhythm construct and a half-dark, half surreal melodic base, the tune knows how to get your heart rate up by building this intense atmosphere as if you were chased by something, or someone.

I really like the scenario that is built for the listener here. It’s both dramatic (sometimes for me almost over-dramatic, but that’s a great thing because it feels like tension rising) and even a bit trippy. Surreal, but relatable. The linear progression of the base melody builds this driven and almost hectic vibe that is backed perfectly through the harmonized vocals. In a way, ‘Owls’ feels like visiting the depths of your brain. You’ll find things there that you’d expected, but also things that seem to be quite a crazy circus happening in there. Music is a great way to build such sceneries, allowing the listener to get lost in these atmospheres. The guys of Combo Qazam know exactly how to use that in their music.
