Taylor McCluskey – Electric Ride

Get ready to rock in style, folks. Canadian rock artist Taylor McCluskey will show you how to do that.

What appeals to me most in the track taken off the newly released album ‘Star God’ is the dark, almost evil atmosphere that is build through the distorted guitars and the slow, methodical drum patterns. This is a perfect home for the deep and smokey vocals with that certain ‘been there, done that’ undertone. While some would probably say that the track feels a bit linear overall, I think that the slow progression builds a very saturated and deep scenery. It feels a bit like everything is happening in slow motion, and that is exactly what gives the track momentum.

‘Electric Ride’ takes its time to deliver, and with a threatening deep vibe like it happens here, it’s important not to rush anything. So yes, the melody is kept simple. Yes, there are no special effects happening, nor are there extraordinary fills happening with the drums or the guitars. That is exactly why this tune has such an energetic impact. And it makes me put on an evil grin while listening.
