Reat – Meis Infiern

Hold on to something – this ride is going to be fast.

Driving guitars along a fast-paced energetic beat are the base for this kickass rock song. While the concept of the song isn’t something we never heard before, its the special chemistry of the tune that made me turn up the volume. Along the uplifting base setting there’s this piano in the back that feels both at home and astray in the sound. That gives the song a signature approach.

The vocals are done passionate and somewhat harsh, giving the song a special glow, like a new-age pirate song with a special in-your-face approach. When backed with the additional vocals tracks, the sound practically forces you to sing along (if only I could get a single word of the lyrics.) One of the really original moves of the swiss band is that all the lyrics are done in romanesque language. This along the basic rocking style is what lets the band stand out of the mass in my opinion. Who said that everyone out there has to invent a new genre every other day? ‘Meis Infiern’ is a perfect example why it’s awesome to stay true to the rock essence without special effects.
