No Signal – Shadow People

Once again, No Signal shows the world its emotional breaking point.

The emotional setting, the fragility and vulnerability coming with this track is mind-blowing. The synth backing tracks create a dark, lonely and lost setting which is even topped by the melancholic vocals. Taking its time, the track slowly evolves with additional elements, creating a soundscape with a slow and methodical approach.

Music like this needs time. It needs the patience of the audience, and it needs the brave attempt of the creator to let the music have an effect on the listener without rushing anything. I love the fact that Riley Schmelzer aka No Signal, who does all of the intruments, all of the vocals and all of the mixing and producing work on his own, lets the music develop in his tracks. In every of his songs I heard so far there’s this core emotional base that just feels ultra-honest and relatable. This guy from Boulder, Colorado can teach a lot of musicians out there a lesson about how to deliver emotional honesty through music. THIS is how it’s done.
