Lycio – Nightfall

The atmosphere in the new release of Lycio is really producing goosebumps.

With seemingly minimal effort there’s this widespaced, roomy atmosphere happening, the reverbed synths along the piano creat a special void that makes you feel lost, alone and left in the dark. Small pulse tracks give the room some texture, but not too much to disturb the emotional vocals that cut through this void. The soft yet intense vocals are wrapped with the synth bass elements, while the surrounding evolves into something brighter over time. There are all these little extra elements lke extra vocal tracks or filters happening to give the track substance and groove.

‘Nightfall’ seems to be in a constant flow, kind of an evolutionary process from start to finish. Blending all the single elements to a final song in this seamless fashion is an art form, and this is exactly what the UK alt-pop trio Lycio managed to do here. This, guys, is music to feel. It’s tunes like this one that really go under the skin of the listener.
